I want to modify my registration

There are a couple ways to update your registration.

The first is upon completion of registration, you will receive a confirmation email. Included in this email is a link to view or modify your registration as well as payment information. Follow the link to return to your conference registration. Enter your password, and you will be able to make any changes or modifications necessary to your registration.

The second way is to log-in, using the email address and password you entered when registering.

I heard my company is getting free tickets. How do I register with one of those free tickets?

If your company is a corporate supporter or sponsor, there may be complimentary tickets as part of those benefits. Please contact your TSPA corporate rep or whoever manages your company's partnerships for more information.

I qualify for some of the discounts listed on the Registration Fees page. How do I get those discounts?

Most of those discounts are applied as part of your registration. Answer all the questions as you register. If you qualify, an alert will come up on the payment page with the relevant discount code.

Can I share my discount code with someone else?

No, discount codes are nontransferable. Even if you do not use the discount code you may not give it to someone else.

How do I become a member and receive the membership price?

Can I choose when I present?

No, speakers cannot choose which days they speak and/or when their session is scheduled. If you’re a speaker and cannot attend TrustCon when you’re scheduled to present, email trustcon-program@tspa.org. Please note, however, that it’s unlikely we’ll be able to accommodate schedule change requests.

I can’t attend. Can someone else present on my behalf?

It depends. The Program Committee accepted your proposal for TrustCon as it was written. If you can’t attend for some reason and a co-worker is willing to present on your behalf, we may be able to accommodate this request, but we’ll need to discuss this decision. To increase the chances of a change being approved, we recommend choosing a person in the same role as you who thoroughly understands the subject matter covered in the presentation. Consider also whether the alternative presenter can manage Q&A. Then email trustcon-program@tspa.org with your request.

The agenda has been published. Can I edit my lightning talk, presentation, panel, or workshop description?

No, once your proposal has been accepted and added to the agenda, you cannot edit the description.

How much time do I have to present?

If you’re presenting a lightning talk, you’ll have five to seven minutes. If you’re giving a presentation, you’ll have 20 minutes. If you’re a moderator or panelist, your panel will have 50 minutes. If you’re facilitating a workshop, you’ll have either 90 or 120 minutes.

Wait, what are sessions and how do they work?

Sessions are blocks of time on the TrustCon agenda that consist of one or more events. Lightning talk sessions consist of 5-7 speakers who present in succession with combined Q&A at the end. Presentation sessions consist of two speakers who present for 20 minutes each and then have time for combined Q&A. Panels have the entire 50 minute session, though we encourage panels to save time for Q&A at the end of the session too. The majority of sessions are 50 minutes long; only workshop sessions are 90-120 minutes long.

Will there be Q&A in my session?

Time permitting, all lightning talk, presentation, and panel sessions will have Q&A at the end of the session. We encourage you to practice ahead of time and time your talk so that you and your co-presenters have an opportunity to engage directly with the audience.

I’m presenting on the Main Stage. Is there anything I need to know?

Yes, if you’re presenting on the Main Stage either as a part of a panel or as an individual, then you need to know that your session will be open to all TrustCon attendees (including press) and may be recorded. If you and/or your panelists do not agree to these terms, email trustcon-program@tspa.org as soon as possible.

Can I have a co-presenter?

You cannot have a co-presenter for a lightning talk or a presentation. If you’re facilitating a workshop, you may have one co-facilitator. All co-facilitators must register as speakers.

I’m facilitating a workshop. Is there anything I need to know?

Yes, if you’re facilitating a workshop, please refer to the emails you’ve received and complete the form you were sent.

Am I required to use slides?

If you’re presenting a lightning talk, you’re required to use slides. Slides are optional for presentations, workshops, and panels.

Can I present slides from my laptop?

Yes, for presentations, workshops, and panels, you can present slides from your laptop. Each room will have a selection of dongles and A/V technicians and/or room hosts available to provide assistance. However, we always recommend that you have a backup (for example, on a thumb drive) in the event that your laptop doesn’t work with the A/V set-up.

Note: Lightning talk presenters cannot present from their laptops. They will be required to submit their slides on or before Friday, July 12 at 11:59pm Pacific Time.

Can I send my slides to TSPA ahead of time?

Yes, you can send your slides to trustcon-program@tspa.org by Friday, July 12 at 11:59pm Pacific Time. Your slides will then be loaded onto one of the show laptops that will be available in your assigned room at TrustCon 2023.

If you’re sending your slides to us, please send both a PPT or Keynote and a PDF (as a backup). You should also upload any custom or special fonts used in the presentation so they can be installed on the show laptop too. If you’re using video in your slides, please be sure the video is embedded and that you have a copy of the video file in case it doesn’t play in your slides.

Will TSPA provide a template I can use for my slides?

Yes, you can access the TrustCon 2024 template here. However, you’re not required to use this template.

I’m organizing a panel. Do I need to register my panelists?

No, you do not need to register on behalf of your panelists. However, you do need to ensure that your panelists register as speakers and submit bios during the registration process. You also need to register yourself as a speaker if you are a panelist or moderator. If you submitted a panel but will not be involved in it as a panelist or moderator, you need to register as an attendee, not as a speaker.

You also need to ensure that all of your panelists are informed about and agree to the session preferences you selected when you confirmed your session. We recommend that you schedule a meeting with your panelists ahead of TrustCon 2024 so that they can meet each other and the moderator and discuss possible questions. Please remember that, as a panel organizer, you’re the main point of contact for your panel.

Will there be a Speaker's Room?

Yes, there will be a designated room for speakers to prepare, practice, relax, and store their personal belongings. When you pick up your badge at the registration desk, you’ll be provided with additional information for speakers, including the location of the Speaker's Room and how to access it.

Will there be room hosts?

Yes, each room will have designated room hosts who will monitor attendance, open the session, provide tech support, and generally support speakers. If you require additional assistance and/or accommodations for your session, email trustcon-program@tspa.org.

What if I need to change my session preferences the day of my session?

If you need to change your session preferences (for example, whether press is allowed), you must arrive at your assigned session early and communicate all changes to the room hosts.

Will there be opportunities for tech checks?

Yes, speakers will have the opportunity to do tech checks at the start of each conference day and at the close of the first two conference days. When you pick up your badge at the registration desk, you’ll be provided with additional information for speakers, including the times and locations for tech checks.

Can I share my slides and/or presentation materials with TrustCon attendees after the conference?

Yes, if you would like to share your slides and/or presentation materials with TrustCon attendees you can do so via Swoogo, the conference registration and agenda platform. Email trustcon-program@tspa.org for more information.

Will TSPA provide a recording of my presentation so that I can share it with my team after the conference?

No, TSPA will not be recording presentations this year, but you can ask a colleague or friend to record or take photos of your presentation. However, you will need to let the audience in your session know that a recording is taking place, so they are aware and in case they ask questions during the Q&A that are recorded. The recording / photographing should be of you and your presentation, not the audience. Recording equipment is limited to a smartphone and recordings can only be used for non-commercial purposes. Any clips posted publicly online should be limited to less than 2 minutes. If you do not want the audience to record or take photos of your sessions, you need to let them know.

Are you accepting volunteers?

Are schedules flexible? Will I be able to attend sessions?

Volunteers will need to work at least 5 hours each day; however, when they are not volunteering, they may attend sessions and network with other trust and safety professionals. We may accommodate rescheduling volunteer hours if we have enough notice and/or coverage.
