Alex Leavitt, PhD (they/them) is a social scientist and global trust & safety expert. Currently, Alex is Principal Researcher for Trust & Safety at Roblox, where they work on content moderation, civility & pro-social design, and safety & harm measurement. Prior to their current role, Alex led numerous product and policy research initiatives across News Feed Integrity, Civic Integrity, and Social Impact teams at Meta covering topics like misinformation, polarization, COVID-19, and social media's impact on marginalized populations. Alex is a mixed-methods researcher, drawing from traditional ethnographic, interview, and survey research, and combining it with novel computational and experimental methods.
