Toni Friedman serves as the Assistant Director for the Asia Foundation’s Digital Technology, Policy, and Innovation team, where she supports programs focusing on internet governance, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies across the Foundation’s 18 country offices. She holds a master’s degree in International Policy, focusing on Cyber Policy from Stanford University. She previously worked as Head Research Assistant for Marietje Schaake at the Cyber Policy Center, and at the Stanford Internet Observatory. In another life, she managed charity programs in Shanghai, China, where she published an amateur podcast with friends from within the Chinese firewall.
