As Bumble's Director of Safety Product and Integrity Services, Michaela is responsible for driving and building safe, inclusive product strategies to enhance member safety and trust across Bumble Inc. brands. She leads Bumble's Safety product management team focused on platform and content integrity; trust, safety, and support infrastructure; and member-facing pro-social safety experiences. Michaela is also interim lead of Bumble's Trust & Safety Policies organization, which focuses on safety policy, integrity policy, and product policy.

Prior to Bumble, Michaela built up and scaled Twitter's Responsible Product Development team, ensuring safe, fair, and privacy-conscious experiences for Twitter customers. Michaela directed safety by design for consumer and revenue products, product management to integrate new products into Twitter’s central content moderation infrastructure, and additionally risk assessment and safety requirement development for emerging and acquired products.

Prior to Twitter, Michaela spent a significant portion of her career at Mozilla, the non-profit maker of Firefox. Across several roles, she examined the internet’s impact on individual lives and society at large, and she worked on solutions — from the development of pro-social Firefox features that gave customers more agency over their online lives to the roll out of global consumer education strategies — to make that impact more positive.

Prior to Mozilla, Michaela worked in Ogilvy Washington’s Behavior Change practice and designed large-scale public health initiatives — leveraging new social and participatory technology — for the U.S. Federal Government in support of cancer screening, heart health, and gynecologic health.

Michaela has served on the Board of the Digital Trust & Safety Partnership and is a contributor to the Women’s Impact Alliance, which works to advance the world’s highest potential women leaders in social and environmental change through coaching. Michaela lives in the Washington, DC area with her family. She’s Mom to two energetic kids (a toddler and a preschooler) who she describes as everything good in the world, and is also Mom to an old yet very rambunctious hound dog.
