Ollie Evenden is responsible for supporting the growth of the UK's emerging online safety technologies sector on behalf of the UK government. This involves leading both innovation programmes seeking to develop specific technologies to tackle pre-identified challenges and more general sector support initiatives.

Ollie has worked in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (and it's predecessor DCMS) for over five years. He was previously Head of Strategic Relationships in the Big Tech Unit, worked directly for the department's most senior civil servant - the Permanent Secretary - as a Private Secretary, and spent time building some of the UK's first 5G networks in the 5G Testbeds and Trials Programme. He studied Philosphy and Politics at university and has a Masters in Global Ethics and Human Values from King's College London, where he wrote his thesis on moral questions related to the increasing integration between humans and machines.
