Content Moderation is the backbone of T&S, but one that is perhaps least understood, even by other internal teams. Despite its importance to maintaining a thriving content platform, moderation is often perceived as a black box by both creators and non-safety teams. This presentation will provide examples and key learnings about how members of TikTok's trust and safety team have helped others in the company better understand the work they do - with case studies about moderator shadowing programs, immersion programs, focus groups and research.
