Designing for Prosociality: A Framework of Digital Interventions to Promote Prosocial Behavior
Description

Modifications in the design of a platform’s architecture aimed at fostering prosocial interactions are increasingly researched by social scientists. This presentation proposes a conceptual framework for these digital interventions built off of a large review of the scientific literature on the topic. For each of the categories proposed in the framework, I draw on scientific studies to provide tested and applicable interventions as examples. The goal of this presentation is to make a growing body of social science research on digital interventions accessible and actionable for practitioners to apply directly to their work.
