George began his journey in online safety working at an age assurance start-up, before joining Ofcom shortly after they had been named the UK's regulator for Online Safety. Working at the intersection of Ofcom's Child Safety Policy and Trust and Safety Technology teams, he led the delivery of high-profile regulatory products under the Video-Sharing Platform and Online Safety Regimes.
In January 2024 he founded Illuminate Tech to carry out research into the effectiveness of online safety tech, and support businesses in navigating the ever-evolving digital regulatory landscape.
