John Perrino is the policy lead for the Stanford Internet Observatory based in Washington, D.C., working to root online trust and safety policy in research and technical reality.

His commentary and analysis have been cited in a U.S. Surgeon General advisory on social media and youth mental health and received dozens of media mentions in publications including The New York Times, Wired and The Hill. He is also a regular contributor to Tech Policy Press.

Perrino previously was a director at the Glen Echo Group where he led and produced award-winning public affairs work on cybersecurity and privacy issues. He began his career at the Internet Education Foundation, helping organize Capitol Hill briefings and the annual State of the Net conference.

Perrino earned a bachelor's degree and Master of Public Administration (MPA) from George Washington University.
