This talk is part of a two-presentation session running from 2:50 PM - 3:40 PM. The session will feature two presentations back-to-back, with Q&A after each presentation.
In this presentation, I will discuss the value of investing in foundational knowledge in order to speed operations at scale. I will talk about the foundational work our design team did to understand the breadth of content moderation needs across the Google ecosystem and how that led to a UX framework we use in all our recommendations. This framework includes both a mapping of the human reviewer user journey and a library of UI components that can be used to build the front-end of a content moderation tool. I will then present a case study of how Jigsaw - an external facing T&S team at Google - used that framework to quickly execute the design and prototyping of a purpose-built content moderation tool that would have taken many more cycles to complete.
