This talk is part of a two-presentation session running from 2:50 PM - 3:40 PM. The session will feature two presentations back-to-back, with Q&A after each presentation.
Both T&S and children's privacy regulations are developing globally at pace, leading to substantial product updates, shifts in attitudes and (eventually) enforcement. However, it can be hard to build a product for where T&S and privacy regs appear to take different approaches to the same subject-matter; or where one law seems to jeopardize compliance under the other. This session will unpick these difficult interactions, focusing on:
- Age assurance: What are the privacy risks? How can we align the COPPA and EU approaches to parental consent and age assurance?
- Moderation/AI: Is it legal to process personal data for content moderation? Is use of AI for moderation restricted by privacy laws?
- Age-appropriate design: How much can approaches under T&S and privacy laws be aligned?
This is a must for those responsible for building compliance or who regularly interact with legal teams; or anyone else interested in where global policy is moving.
