Around 2 billion people are expected to vote this year in 83 elections across 78 countries. And like so much of daily life, online platforms have become an integral part of the global elections landscape. In 2023, seasoned election integrity professionals and Integrity Institute members published two guides of best practices: “Responsibly Supporting Elections on Online Platforms” and “Defining and Achieving Success”. In this panel, the authors of the guides will delve into the following questions:

• What is an elections program, why do you need one, and how do you get started?
• What are the most critical best practices for assessing and mitigating elections-related risks to your users and platforms?
• What emerging trends will impact election integrity in 2024, including generative AI?
• What are the learnings from elections that have taken place in the first half of 2024 that we can apply in the rest of the year’s elections?
