As trust and safety professionals, we know that the behaviors that can disrupt someone’s experience in a game or app often go beyond what is covered in policy guidance. We also know that these types of non-violating - but unwanted - experiences can vary significantly between users, and dramatically affect people’s enjoyment of apps and games. In early experiments, we've found that we can reduce the frequency of unwanted behavior and significantly improve people's experience by giving them customizable tools for users to tailor their own comfort levels in voice chat, enabling a more user-centered way to reduce unwanted experiences. We will also share what we have learned from controls that let users manage what level of physical proximity is comfortable for them. Learn about Meta's experiment with personalized trust & safety tools and how our learnings will transform immersive experiences for the better.
