This talk is part of the TrustCon 2024 Research Lightning Talk session. Lightning talk sessions are 50 minutes long, featuring a series of short 5-7 minute talks back-to-back in the same room, followed by Q&A at the end.
Academic researchers are increasingly focusing on current issues relevant to trust & safety practice. However, to our knowledge, there have been no attempts made to systematically describe what trust & safety relevant peer-reviewed scholarship has been published. In this lightning talk, I will briefly introduce the History of Trust & Safety Archive, a publicly accessible reference library hosted on Zotero. Anyone can view the database and request access to make their own contributions. In my role as a Research Assistant with the Trust & Safety Foundation, I developed and launched the archive. I overview our methodological approach to identifying relevant academic literature. Additionally, l discuss take-aways for T&S professionals and academic researchers based upon my own study using the archive. It is our goal that this Archive continues to evolve and serve as a resource and tool for research and connections across the global T&S community.
