Join PlayStation's evolving narrative at TrustCon 2024, where we'll share insights from our latest efforts in CSAM detection, grounded in our pioneering approach to ethical innovation and experimentation. Starting with a hash-matching system that initially faced a 98% false positive rate, our journey this year leveraged a cutting-edge experimentation platform. This allowed us to rapidly refine features, enhancements, and data integrations, meticulously balancing legal, privacy, moderation, and ethical concerns. We then upped our game by evaluating multiple third-party CSAM detection services in parallel within this production experimentation framework. Through retroactive data analysis, we developed new ways of ethically benchmarking CSAM capabilities that have led to significant improvements in detecting both known and novel CSAM on our platform.
