This talk is part of the TrustCon 2024 Child Safety Lightning Talk session. Lightning talk sessions are 50 minutes long, featuring a series of short 5-7 minute talks back-to-back in the same room, followed by Q&A at the end.

The Tech Coalition is releasing an update to the Trust Voluntary Framework for Industry Transparency in 2024. This update draws upon lessons learned in the 2 years since the framework was first released. It will also reflect the rapidly changing landscape of transparency, most notably due to regulation such as the Digital Services Act. The DSA transparency requirements provide an opportunity for industry to combine regulatory compliance with voluntary and proactive transparency practices. In discussing the updated framework, this session will highlight the steps the Tech Coalition and its members are taking to emphasize and improve transparency reporting in the child safety space, and describe how transparency plays a crucial role in the fight against child sexual exploitation and abuse.
