Liz Hegarty is the Global Teen Safety Policy Manager at Discord. Her role is dedicated to ensuring Discord’s products and policies are created with the safety and well-being of Discord’s youngest users in mind. Prior to joining Discord, Liz was Legislative Director at Common Sense Media, a leading U.S. nonprofit organization focused on helping parents and kids thrive in a world of media and technology. While at Common Sense Media, Liz helped advance public policy efforts related to children’s online safety and privacy. She previously worked on political campaigns at the national, state, and local level.
