Sextortion, a rising concern for child safety Trust & Safety professionals, is regarded as a cyber pandemic led by criminal organizations which affect the lives of thousands of young users. Inbal will walk participants through its characteristics, detection methods, and what can be done if one is affected. Next up, Inbal will discuss how terrorist organizations bypass stronger classifiers and avoid detection with new methods like coded languages, transliteration, and diacritics. Inbal will share a window into hate groups’ fundraising by exploiting marketplaces to sell camouflaged merchandise glorifying their ideology. Lastly, Inbal will show how health misinformation is declining and political misinformation is rising. She will share the latest tactics, including: - The shift from bots to seemingly authentic accounts - Re-using information operations infrastructures like accounts and domains for different narratives - Using mainstream platforms as a gateway to bespoke platforms where harmful content can reside without being in moderation.
